The users have spoken! Starbucks Finder one of Top 7 Highest Rated Windows Phone Apps

We were excited to see a new blog by 7tutorials on the Top 7 Highest Rated Apps for Windows Phone. Starbucks Finder makes the list at number 6. The other app we recognized was Baconit (which is one of our favorite apps!) so this list gives us some great new apps to try.

Happy Starbucks Finding!

Now Finding your Nearest Starbucks Drive Through, Clover Brew, and more!

Version 1.4 of Starbucks Finder just went live, which means Windows Phone users can now filter for stores with specific amenities—company owned, drive through, clover brew, wireless hotspot, and oven warmed food—to find exactly what you are looking for.

Unfortunately, if you upgrade from version 1.3 to version 1.4, the app will delete the card you had in the 1.3 version. This means you will need to add your Starbucks Card to the app again. We already submitted a v1.5 update to the marketplace and made certain that you will NOT need to enter your Starbucks Card to the app again with any future updates.

Starbucks card now integrated into Starbucks Finder

Our latest 1.3.0.0 update lets you add your Starbucks Card to Starbucks Finder so you can fuel your Starbucks addiction without ever reaching for your wallet.  Did you recently get a gift card?  No worries- you can add multiple Starbucks cards to the app!

We take security extremely seriously.  Your Starbucks card barcode is created and stored locally on your windows phone.  Your card information is never transmitted over the internet.

We hope you enjoy your Starbucks mobile payment on WP7!  You can download Starbucks Finder for free in the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Update now published

The update has been published in the marketplace and we have heard from a few folks using non-English settings that this has fixed their problems.  If you were having issues, please give it a try with this new update!

New in 1.2.0.0
• Fixed bug preventing users in non-English regions from connecting to the network
• Improved map load time
• Map now displays full bleed

Oops, Experiencing Service Issues in Some Geographies- Update in Progress

We noticed that we have a pretty nasty bug (we’re calling it the “comma bug”) that affects select users worldwide— if your phone language is set to a region where a comma is used to format numbers instead of a decimal (for example, if your phone displays 4.2 km as 4,2 km), the app will display an error saying that it cannot connect to Starbucks.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience! We believe we have fixed the problem but unfortunately we need to wait for marketplace approval before the update goes out. We expect this will take until the end of the week.

There are a few additional improvements coming in our version 1.2 update as well:

  • Fixed timing bug where stores open past midnight would show as closed once midnight hit
  • Map will be full-bleed
  • Map will load faster

Thanks for your patience!

Starbucks Finder live on the Windows Phone Marketplace!

You can download the app *here*.

We have been super excited to launch this app for Windows Phone. As self-confessed Starbucks addicts (and fans of Windows Phone), we felt that the Windows Phone Marketplace lacked a Starbucks locator app that had all the features we wanted.

We designed Starbucks Finder get you to your closest, open Stabucks store. None of the Windows Phone Starbucks apps we’ve seen show if stores are open or closed, so we designed our whole user interface to make that information as discoverable as possible. Hence, the displays (both map view and list view) are color coded depending on whether or not the store is currently open or currently closed.

There are other features that we felt fellow Starbucks lovers would appreciate in their app, such as which stores are company owned (versus being a licensed location in a Safeway or Fred Meyers), have a drivethrough, serve oven warmed food, and more.
